The Fun Learning Friendship Song

Fun Learning Friendship Song: It's Time to Play!

It's Time to Play!

Look me in the eyes my friend,

take me by the hand.

Friendship is the language we all can understand.

Look me in the eyes my friend,

take me by the hand.

Friendship is the language we all can understand.

Is the fiddle here?

Is the clarinet here?

Is the accordion here?

We are here today,

Now, it's time to play!

Look me in the eyes my friend,

Take me by the hand.

Friendship is the language we all can understand.

Look me in the eyes my friend,

Take me by the hand.

Friendship is the language we all can understand.

Teacher: Is XX here?

Child: Yes, XX is here.

T: Is XX around?

C: Yes, XX is here.

T: What about XX?

C: Yes, XX is here.

T: Where's little XX

C: Yes, XX is here.

T: XX, are you here?

C: Yes, XX is here.

T: XX. are you here?

C: Yes, XX is here.

We are here today,

Now, it's time to play!

This song is often heard during circle time in our partner kindergartens. It's a roll call song with a reminder of the importance of friendships and being kind - and of course, about play. A great starting point for discussions, don't you agree 😁?

Circle time songs like this one provide a wonderful opportunity to reinforce important values such as friendship and kindness in a fun and engaging way. They set a positive tone for the day and create a sense of community within the classroom. Plus, they can serve as a springboard for meaningful discussions about how we can treat each other with kindness and respect. It's a fantastic way to start the day on a positive note, helping us build social-emotional skills in young children.
